Lukoil buys 49.99% stake in Al-Farabi deposit in Kazakhstan
ST.PETERSBURG, Jun 4 (PRIME) -- CEO of Russian oil company Lukoil Vagit Alekperov and CEO of Kazakhstan's KazMunayGas Alik Aidarbayev have signed an agreement to sell a 49.99% stake in Al-Farabi Operating to Lukoil, Lukoil said in a statement on Friday.
"Following satisfaction of a number of conditions precedent Lukoil will join the exploration and production project on the Al-Farabi block (previously known as I-P-2 block) in the Kazakhstan Sector of the Caspian Sea," the statement read.
The agreement was signed in the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
